Victor and Evelyn

A love that was once the brightest,
Now an ashen hue…
This love that was like the sky; never-ending…
They say love conquers all, however,
Vile poison spits out of your mouths in the form of words,
And yet, deep down, a torrent of anguish and regret floods in you…
Darkness consumes all in the end…
The head, full of beautiful memories,
Surge through their weary eyes and spill upon their cheeks…
The clouds unveil Her face, my Muse, and he weeps,
For the moon that smiles upon him, reminds him of her…
That woman that altered his life…
That Goddess that showed him love again…
That angel that helped him discover happiness…
What made him think that her love for him was not genuine?
She has loved him unconditionally,
And feels that her emotions were not reciprocated…
A heavy blanket of numbness envelops both of their bodies in a tight embrace…
It is all they have left now…
Lonely are the nights,
Somber are the dreams…
For he does not have her warm embrace, and she does not have his tender caress…
Two lonesome souls wander the earth,
In the bottomless oblivion, they are so near, and yet so far away…
Two different worlds, once united,
Now torn apart by Despair’s jagged claws…
“Why are my feelings taken without regard?”
“Does he not see that it hurts me to witness his neglectfulness?”
Passion lies deep within, and needs to be set free…
But He does not show the same passion for her…
Her body is an empty shell, except for that one bit of hope that is left in her…
Should she wait, or should she move on?
Words cannot convince her now,
He needs to demonstrate his undying love to her…
Her eyes only saw his crystalline eyes,
But she wonders now what he saw in those pits of amber…
Love? Lust? Reminiscence? Hope?
He once said to her that he wanted to grow old with her,
What of it now?
I believe this is a love that should not be forsaken…
He made her happy once,
Can he make it happen again?
For her sake, and his…
I hate to see this relationship perish, when it has so much promise…
I do not write this to give him grief,
I write this because I care about him and my mother,
And I don’t want this new life with him to ever end…
All I want is for her to be happy…
He once did make her happy, what happened?
I want him to ponder my words, and I want to see what he makes of them…
These words of mine are not of a mere child,
But of someone that has observed this glorious love affair…

Oh how well I know this pain and confusion. I believe you can see that in a few of my poems. I sincerely hope that your Mother finds her happiness restored, and yours as well. This is another incredible write, ma fleur précieuse.

Nazmythian ~
