Angel Of Peace

Contributed by The_Phantom on Wednesday, 13th November 2002 @ 06:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Patriotic

Darkness is about to set, war still a deadly treat,
My brothers in arms lie dead, at my feet runs a river of red,
A gun shot disrupts the slience, and relights the fuse of volience,
I open fire, in hopes I hit the target desired,

Keep my head down, as bombs brust all around,
The night air is so cold, as bodies lay riddled with holes,
I'm just another soldier left for dead, throughout my body the pain spreads,
I lay motionless in a puddle of blood, as another soldier makes a hollow thud,

I await my fate, as I'm consumed by hate,
I wonder if it's time to die, then I hear a little girl cry,
She is blood of my enemy, was she sent to finish me,
She rushes to my side, placeing her hands upon my wounded thigh,

She speaks of her dad, how his life was cut short by this war we've had,
She leaves my side, steps upon the battlefield where so many have died,
The bullets cease, fore she is the angel of peace,
The battle stops, as our weapons drop,

The darkness leaves, the sunlight is freed,
She starts to cry, and asks us why,
Why must you fight, haven't we taken enough life,
Then shes gone, and now we live with what we've done wrong.

Forever Faithful
The Phantom
