Soldier

Topic: war

On a soldiers last day
The sun rises red
And as he ran he didn't know he was already dead
His friends at his side
They seeked sanction within the cities walls
It was silent
Other than the breathing of exhausted men
And the heavy treds of tired feet

"***, Get down!!!"

Every man stopped and ran to the side of the road
Pushed there bodies against the wall
And he looked as the man next to him began to fall
Blood spilled all over the floor
And fire and red flooded the streets

"Medic!! Medic!!"

Hiding men within the buildings shot down
He ran down along the buildings aching side
He heard so many screams, there was no where to hide
When he turned a corner he saw a man

"Panzers!!! Fall Back to the bridge!!"

The man looked up
The man knew he was going to die
Cold and tired they stared at eachother
And he fired
3 rounds into his chest
And the man fell to his knees

"Soldier get the *** back to that bridge!!, the city has been over run!!"

He didn't move
He just stared at the man on the ground
Bleeding away his life
Enemy he may be
But to others he was a friend, father

"............."

Silence filled the streets
As He walked up to the man
Looked at his breast pocket
And there lay a white flower
The mark of a true soldier

"............"

Tears of grief
For an unexpected foe
For a man

He began to run
In fear and in anger
Look at the man, Look what he had done
A soldier now lies bleeding
Under a French sky
And on the gravel of a broken road

Explosions and fire painted thed sky a bloody red
And the air a smoky grey
The grass was dead
And the buildings were broken
A shadow loomed over them

They all now lay in a trench
Waiting

".........."

The guns stopped
And they waited

"........."

Night fell
The last night for a man
This place had become a living hell
These men had become family

Suddenly the guns started once more
But this time
When He stood
He heard the whistling of rifle bullets like never before
His chest was shattered by bullets
He fell to the soft wet ground

"***!!"

"Medic!! Medic!!"

When his body hit the ground
So did his life
He stared into the Starry sky
As his lungs filled with blood
He was going to die
Friends and foes all suffered
On that night
No lives were spared

Humanity is our enemy
