The water whispers and rain drops prance,
It’s there I join with solemn;
It’s there with death I dance.
…I am the sniper.
Will the Devil sleep tonight
Or will he ride in on a horse of malice?
I hear him charge, then set behind this mask of iron
a tear runs down my face,
…I am the sniper.
So with this hand of death, I wave at thee,
Then cast from me, an angle of iron,
She will bless you on your head.
So here, my solitary breaks
and my hart bleeds again
…Oh why am I the sniper?
The man of callous and his horse of malice
Have left me with a solitary embrace.
But with a mind half twisted,
A heart still bleeding
And a soul now filled with disgrace…
I reap joy for no one,
…Because, I am the sniper.
Now two men sit upon each shoulder,
One sat warm in white,
The other red and colder.
No, I reap no joy but even sadness?
These Crippled things maimed only by madness
… Madness from being the sniper.
Bring me a gun to empower
So then show me a man to devourer
And from my keep, my bullets shall shower
From which Lucifer will lend me his power
…to be the sniper
So once more when the devil does ride
I shall be there with him
So then the next lament hunt begins
…Oh yes I am still the sniper

Thank you.
From a child I always wanted to be a sniper (weird i know) and have always loved the feeling it gave me thinking of it.
Also, the poem is, in a way, a metaphore for all mans inner devil and if we can fight him off... |
