Words to a Country
With a heart as big as the sky
100,000 men from the North came and stood
Next to brothers of mine
They fought in the same battles
114 didn’t come home, their names on the North Wall
While 125,000 cowards from my homeland
Ran away to a new land
They were replaced by the true heroes
Who went to Vietnam
They honored their freedoms
And paid the price
Thank you my brothers
You make me feel so proud
So when I hear your anthem O Canada
I will stand beside you
Remembering your brave warriors
Who left their home for someone else’s freedom
