If I’m a FREAK what does that make every one else?

Contributed by deathdrop on Sunday, 3rd October 2004 @ 06:49:49 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Dumb nerves,
Are stinging again.
Blunt curse!
I’m bleeding again.
It’ll stop bleeding,
It always does,
But until then.
This crimson won’t rust.

But just look at the beauty,
Of each flowing drop.
It’s so pretty,
UGLY IT’S NOT!
It’s dribbling out,
Of a shell of torn skin.
I gave into my thoughts.
And let my hurt win.

So I’ll sit here now.
Watching over it.
And why not remember me.
As the girl that lost her grip.
Or the broken little freak.
Or the stuck-up little cow.
The ‘confused adolescent’
Or the one who was banned from town...

Call me what you want!
It’s nothing I haven’t heard.
But I break when you say I’m cared for.
Who’d want me? I’m disturbed!
So go on then say it!
So I just know how you feel!
Slag me off and call me stupid.
Then say I’m actually worth some thing real!

Goodness you people confuse me!
Call me names then try to be my friend.
Then continue to verbally abuse me.
Until I snap again.
Or maybe I really AM twisted.
And confused and broken and all.
‘Coz so many others just stand strong,
Where as I break and fall…

I don’t under stand things!
But then some friends say they care for me.
So what ever I am, don’t I know it!
But I’ll just keep pushing on through the day…
And maybe, I’m a FREAK to cut my-self.
But don’t that mean that smokers are freaks too.
‘Coz we’re only using defense mechanisms,
So we don’t bottle up and stay blue!!!!!!

i never really noticed the cutters till i came to this site (that was awhile b/c i've been here pretty long!) and i've read through a lot of opinions on it. maybe it's people don't like the thought of blood, or maybe it's the cutters are the most self-conscious over their issues. i dunno. still... while i won't comment on the opnions encased, good strong writing style. cheers! ;0)

hey i havent comented on ur poems in a while. but i like this one its so true, why do people judge cutters more than druggies or alcholics? seriously i agree completely with you.it doesnt make sense to me either people should get to know you before they judge you, its rude to judge someone and not even speak a word to them.

"Let any man without sin cast the first stone"... None of us can. I will not try to judge because I wouldn't like to be judged... I can however say a prayer for you....

Some very strong lines in this poem. I feel some of them too. Well written. I hope to read more of your words soon.
Take care...
