LoveRemembered

Sifting thru these envelopes
I found you unexpectedly.
Between the yellowed paper and the saliva.
The archway edges holding onto memories.
Long golden strand of love
Locked beneath the seal.
.35c kept a part of you with me,
Until the envelope is taken by the carbon break-down.
Your hair will still linger inside my mind.
Tickling the memories of us onto paper,
Etched into organic forms.
I love you, like the wind loves to sing,
Like a fire loves oxygen.
Beneath the stamp and spit,
On an old decrepit envelope,
I will love you until the carbon breaks down.

I love the way the words flow from your pen.
A divergence of emotion floats
around in this poem. I really liked it.
Great work, Dane!

It's a really great poem. The imagery is wonderfully constructed. One question though, why will you only love her until the carbon breaks down? Once the physical memory is gone, your feelings will just disappear? |

Being carbon based yourself, you will be loving her a long time, God willing. And if you consider the carbon in bone structure, it will be even long after concious thought has departed frail form.
This one ROCKS, Dane !!!

Bravo!!!!
I love this! Damn I love the uniqueness of your poetic voice. This is incredibly well done... it stands out... I implore you to keep writing and posting. I WILL keep reading.
And that last line! Yeh... oh yeh! (But of course, you already know).
Finding something brand new in the memory of lost love,

Too cute! Sometimes coming across an old love letter can be the best discovery.
I never know what I'll get when I click on one of your poems. This gave me a smile.
