When Dawn Finally Makes His Own Damn Coffee

Contributed by deadreckoning1983 on Saturday, 2nd October 2004 @ 04:11:38 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

Automatically I think of you,
When I wake and retire,
All day long.
Pathetically I try to find my voice,
To let you know how I am.
Love on the wire,
Or love in transmission,
It doesn't matter which.
All I want is to see your face,
And hold you thru the nite.
Until dawn shuffles into the bedroom
Telling me to make coffee.
But this will never happen,
Between just friends.
I never asked for much,
Just for love, just you.
I still love you and I'll still call.
Remember me when love comes your way again.

Another one from the great Dane.

Your unique style always makes for
a good read.
This is very sincere.
Plainspoken but expressive.

I had missed this somehow ~

"All I want is to see your face,
And hold you thru the nite.
Until dawn shuffles into the bedroom
Telling me to make coffee."

I really like the way you pull the title here. And it seems emotional to me, Bud.

Naz ~

I like the last line, it's really all you can ask for from a former/near lover.

Dane, I read this once before but was at a loss as to what to say.
I can never follow up your poems with a simple, " hey dude,
that was great! hehe"
It just sounds so trite. I mean, your poetry
is so well written and incredibly deep. I am dumbfounded with
your excellence. But fear not. I will keep striving to find just the
right phrase; the perfect thought out response to give your
masterpiece the acclaim it deserves.
Okay, so that was a bit verbose.......lol
sorry dude, you know what I mean.

GREAT poem.

Very bitter sweet. I liked it. Beautiful and sad at the same time...

How great it was to hear from you earlier this month...And I am a little tardy in showing my gratitude. I apologize.
Most of your poetry I have read and commented on already, but this smirk-inducing title grabbed me. I was all prepared to not be moved, or have any emotions stirred, as per your ruse of an author's note...But you were wrong on both counts.
It was both emotionally charged, and quite moving in nature, and subject matter.

With any luck you will find yourself back on ypdc and clicking 'submit poetry' in no time. Your wit and your creative writes are always a treat.
