Freedom Outside Her Box

Contributed by jaeann on Saturday, 2nd October 2004 @ 01:38:20 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

She sits inside the circle
trying to get outside her box
staring through one way windows
because someone has changed the locks.

The need to break free is slowly fighting
her submission of being still
because no one seems to be trying
to go steadily in for the kill.

Her prophesied body is finally here
with both the knowledge and the sin
but all her mentors have erased from her life
and her mind cannot stand the din.

She walks through the forest caressing the sun
aching to be tightly bound
searching for her way inside the trees
so that she can be quickly found.

The clock is ticking half past tomorow
as so many yesterdays come to stay
by the time she learns to give all of her
there'll be no one left to pay.

She's quite restless inside the circle
hoping there's still a key to fit the lock
she knows she can never be his everything
but she craves freedom outside her box.

Oh little Pear Lady, this poem is so forlorn, and really sad.
When you write poetry like this, I can't help feeling things for you are really bad......but I learned many months ago.......that isn't necessarily true! And so I read your rhymes, and I wonder? I sure hope this isn't you, and if it is, get out of that box........I'll help you find the key.
Very well written Jaymee, and well constructed, and I could understand it.....wonders never cease for me.....I'm out of my box..........and home free!
Loved it
ConSue

I have been in that circle, desperately searching for a way out too. Such a sad but beautiful write my friend. I am here if you ever feel the need to talk to someone who , I think, can truly relate.

A long stemmed red rose for you
Larry
