Dots of Pixelated Binary Conceptual Whatevers

Contributed by ShadowDaughter on Thursday, 30th September 2004 @ 11:13:33 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

I wanted to thank you for
the memories; dead and
canned and
flat, stored in word documents
and message histories
and dotsofpixelatedbinaryconceptualwhatevers
that I don't understand
(I don't understand anything anymore)
which are everything we ever

shared; everything we ever
had
and it was so much--
we never had today, and
we somehow missed out on yesterday, but
we found tomorrow

and tomorrow was words
'cause words were our breath, our
laugh, our
life and love and eyes and soul

and after trying
and tryingandtryingandtrying
to bend and shape my words (which
are fractured, now)
into a thank you, I still
can't.
(you're leaving and the words
are going with you and
IneedthewordsandIneedyou)

but you were always the one
who showed me how to stay strong
and I can lose the words, and smile
for you
and I can lose you, and
try to smile
(I can, I can, I will)

but I cannot shape the broken words
into a thank you, thank you, thank you god,
for the memories
and the tomorrows I will always have
because of you.

*

Much love, Becky.

your friend always,
Nora
