Lost Soul
I struggle daily as the hate builds;
I feel lost, alone, wondering what time yeilds.
I try to control the rage;
But my mind feels locked in a cage.
I've seen things that no one should ever see;
That's why reality isn't a place for me.
I keep my shades closed and my curtains pulled tight;
In the dimness, I wish to remain, day and night.
If I don't have to think;
To the past I feel I have no link.
I know 'they' were sick;
So why do I have to explain what makes ME tick?
Bare with me, no harm to anyone do I wish to inflict;
It's just all the injustice I've felt that makes me click.
You'd be surprised how much I'm like you;
If you could only understand what I've been through.
The hate, the pain, the anger, I wish no one had to see;
Because 'normal' is all I've ever wanted to be.
