If I were a flower
I would be a rose
passion follow me
where I roam
trailing petals of love
thorns of revery.
If I were a flower
I would be a violet
Faithful always
Growing in the gardens of our future
Petals of honesty
is what drives me
If I were a flower
I would be a camellia
Soft and velvety
Enticing to the eye
Softly fragrant
Extremely delicate
Yet needing touch
Were I to be a flower,
I'd be the thistle's efflorescence,
Jagged, yet lustrous-hued
In the season of my bloom.
If I were a flower
an orchid I would be
a definate warrior
it can grow where it be
surviving on mountains
rocky craters, sandy ground
its roots cling for certain
never ever giving ground.
If I were a flower
I would be the white bloom
Of the rambling jasmine
The “poet’s jasmine”
Quietly eloquent, full
Reaching past summer’s end
Into autumn’s cool
If I were a flower
I would be a peony (pee-oh-nee)
Large and fluffy petals wear
And the pink you'd see in me.
If I was a flower,
I would be a daisy,
No I am not crazy,
but petals I have many,
Each represents my love so true,
Each one you pull
It would say GOD loves you.
If I were a flower
my choice would be based
on the essence that's me,
and knowing myself
as well as I do, I'm sure
a forgetmenot I'd be.
I am a flower
Blooming each morning
Opening myself
For all to see
All the wonderful petals
of me.

I'd forgot I'd took part in this. Imagine my surprise when I was listen in the authors . . .
I must say its one of my better (of somewhat shorter) group write contributions, and whomever penned the end summed up the poem wonderfully. I'm also left wondering who's the 'forgetmenot' . . . but I think I have a clue. lol

Fun to read this - and I imagine that Neptune is the thistle, and SNM the forgetmenot. Interesting to see the different styles come together like this. The sum of it makes for a great read.
