To My Joe

Topic: dedicatedpoems

Slumber softly tonight.
You need a good nights rest.
Been up for a week,
Your mind must be going crazy.

Your eyes are drooping
And you look like you're about to fall over.
Let me be the one to catch you
when you start to fall again.

I'll hold you up so you won't hit the ground.
I'll make sure you never fall.
Stay up right for me
If you want my protection.

I'll be by your side forever
But only if you earn it.
Don't shove me away,
Don't Denney me my only wish.

But now you look so tired,
Wrapped in guilt over what you are.
But please forget your upbringing,
And be mine forever.

I'll hold you tight and keep you on your feet.
You are the greatest person in my life.
After all those years locked inside my mind
I was weathered and lonely but still so young.

And then you came along,
With your short hair and brown eyes
And lonely life with no friends,
And fake girlfriends and uncried tears.

So now, you are the only thing that matters to me.
You saved me for my mind
And you held me as I cried.
So now, I'll hold you up so you won't fall

An interesting potourri of different pacing and perpectives on the same theme. Should make a good inclusion in the story.
