Apathy For The Death Of Iambic Pentameter

Contributed by Ripper_Something_Unusual on Tuesday, 28th September 2004 @ 02:31:38 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Words have different meanings,
Scarted on a scarlet page,
An aertery with a bloodshot pen in the wound,
A literary genius is stoned by the media,
We are new,
We are better,
Without you there was no us,
With us you would have been forgotten,
So long Shakespeare,
Your words have lost all meaning,
To Fall on fragile ears,
To splinter bone and sinew,
Alas it is a shame.

In an era where talentless emo singers are widely considered to be "incredible poets," it's refreshing to see someone who acknowledges Shakespeare in the way he should be: as a household name. Thank you for this great write, I very much enjoyed it (btw, I love the title too). I'll certainly be watching for more of your work.

Pulled through a small opening by the vacuum of space,
-V.S.

sometimes the past needs to be forgotten, for something different. better is an opinion, and doesnt exist as fact. in the end, everything doesnt matter, it died with the memories.
