An everlasting June

His wings of gold wrap the sun,
A restive flight, unsettled, undone.
And shimmering feathers float down,
With the broken wind to the earth.
In the breath of white winter evenings,
He whispers, promising to linger on…
Holding smiles of an everlasting June,
And early morning thunder-storms.
Upon the brazen cords of the winds,
He had once strung a lone falling star,
And then stayed it there, alone but for
A million midnights and a moon-path.
And I will learn to unravel yet…
The unbroken call of his footsteps,
Always upon the sunset land of dreams,
Always nearer, always farther away.

This is an awesome poem. I can tell you have a liking for summer above all seasons or atleast this poem suggests that. |

Inspiring! The air of this is really beautiful. All the stanzas fit together so well, and the images compliment each other, so I can single nothing out as my favorite. Marvellous.
