An autumn day,
so perfect and pure,
is a beautiful thing,
orange, yellow, red,
all float softly on the breeze,
radiant sunshine lights up the swishing water,
no one sees my joy,
but it stays just the same,
a joy deep within,
that no one can steal,
a hope that swells with each falling leaf,
a hope for the next day,
a hope for the next week,
a hope for more joyful autumn days.
as the day wears on,
the sun sets,
the leaves settle down,
but the stars come out,
and the night has just begun...
