Everything is changing.
Nothing is the same.
Where did everything go?
Where is my life?
I'm not a little kid anymore.
Can someone tell me why?
Why am I growing older?
Why aren't I a child anymore?
I can still remember preschool
And kindergarten.
I can remember my first Halloween,
I was a bunny and my brother was a cop.
My sister was cat woman and her boyfriend was a space man.
Doesn't that count for something?
Can't I stay little for a while longer.
When I was little nothing was wrong,
I didn't know the problems with my life.
I was young and happy.
Can I please stay that way?
What if I'm extra good?
What if extra kind?
Can I go back to being 5
for just a little while?
Can't you see that everything is changing?
Can't you see that the world is dying?
Can't you see I'm falling?
Can't you see me?
I'm not meant to grow old.
That's not in the cards for me.
I never wanted to be old,
I want to be forever young.
I don't care anymore,
Stuff me and hang me on the Christmas tree.
Then I'll be forever young,
And I can be a little piece of seasonal happiness.
