Run Through The Hollows

Contributed by eyesxcriedxout1989 on Monday, 27th September 2004 @ 04:06:40 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Legs moving
To the ever increasing tempo
Of your pounding heart
You were warned as a child
To stay away from this wretched place
The Hollows
The Elders called it
There was an evil here
Beyond the wildest imagination
But now you are stuck in this hell
The Hollows
There is no way out
Every turn brings another shadow
Of the very person you are fleeing from
He will inject you
With a poison, most sweet
And no one knows what happens after that
But you keep running through
The Hollows
Stumble as you feel a sting in your thigh
You rip out the dart
And keep running through
The Hollows
You recongnize a gnarled tree
From when you first entered
The Hollows
You run by it and there He is
He looks just like a kindly old man
Yet he looks at you with a gleam in his eye
You want to run but you are rooted to the spot
In his aged hands He holds a book
He raises his hand
And you feel another sting in you thigh
He has activated the poison
You fall, sedated, no more struggling
Death is the only way to escape
The Hollows

Poet at The Industrial Nervous System
Says:

Verrry interesting imagery.

(And in case you're wondering, that's my Spanish pronunciation of very, I'm not being sarcastic.)

"FALL CHILDREN"
Lyrics: Davey Havok
"as the cries start to penetrate the still air, this day we celebrate. the wait now ends. from four corners smoke plumes into a reddened sky. in the face of lantern light, tonight my destiny lies. this day so hallowed, this day so hallowed. from here to forever it will i will follow. tonight will come to life. deadened branches stirred by the whispers in the wind. fall children fill the street at dusk, at last, it all will begin."
-AFI, "Fall Children"

You've followed your poetic compass
To the coordinates of Well Done!
and Jolly Good Show!
Or so it seems...
