My Blood Moon

Contributed by SuicideParty on Sunday, 26th September 2004 @ 10:09:30 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

If I learn to laugh in time to cry
Will you bid me live in time to die?
Could I hold my fragility in such great esteem
That such delicacy in character my deeds may redeem?

If I thrive to stagger away from contempt
Could I trust you’d assure from my shame I’m exempt?
Should I look to the past to repent for my sins?
Or to God when you’ve fallen as your glory descends?

Could I mimic the stars and lay siege to the skies?
Should I veil my emotion with cynical eyes?
Introspective deliverance from who will you wrought?
When whimsical remembrance was all that you sought?

I have nothing to gain, and so nothing to prove
I have nothing to give, and so nothing to lose.
And when all that I’ve broken begins my demise
In the end you’ll get nothing but mirrors and lies.
