Looking Out

Contributed by pixie on Sunday, 26th September 2004 @ 08:41:38 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Looking out of the bedroom window,
Watching life drift to & fro,
Wondering things like how & why?
I wonder what makes other people cry.

Lots of thoughts dance though my mind,
Searching for answers I’ve yet to find,
The lights on the street softly flicker,
Thoughts are emerging now faster & thicker.

Staring into the quiet sky at night,
Watching car headlights burning bright,
Smiling to yourself as you watch the world,
Watching & witnessing how things do unfurl.

As I stand here watching through the glass,
It’s amazing how much time can pass,
I’m lost in a daze from watching for so long,
Watching this world into which I belong.

People walk by of all types of ages,
All their lives at very different stages,
Some still have youth & some are quite old,
Some do share love & some do feel the cold.

I sigh to myself as I let time float past my face,
It’s as if someone has slowed down the rat race,
A car pulls up I’ve been waiting for him for awhile,
My love has returned in my heart I wear a smile.

This felt like a much-needed alone-time. I really liked the way this just seems to lift the weight off one's shoulders in almost complacent contemplation. I really like this one. Maybe we all need to look out the window once in a while.

Lots of love and peace be with you,

Chelsea

I liked the slowness and progression of your thought process. It was very natural. Almost like watching a feather floating in the wind. Great job.
