A Flower
~~~
Today I stopped to smell a flower
Something I haven’t done in a while
The scent was so intoxicating
To my face it brought a smile
From the delicacy of the petals
To the sternness of the stem
To just now notice such beauty
Made me wonder where I’ve been
The color was incredible
A fantastic piece of work
So I got down on my knees
And take a closer look
God’s handy work in action
Everything in perfect sync
A rain cloud directly above
Offering that flower a needed drink
God, thank you for the little things
That too often goes unseen
Your bright and beautiful earth
Is like something out of a dream
May I never unappreciated
The blessing that you give
Today I learned a lesson
For as long as I live
