Quest of the White Staff Part I

Contributed by eyesxcriedxout1989 on Saturday, 25th September 2004 @ 12:27:47 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

My name is Carthen
Captain, am I
I command the Kings fleet
Yet this Quest is personal
Stille, Dark Lord of a distant land
Has slain my wife and offspring
An old prophet has told me
Of a White Staff
To revive the dead
Stille has that staff
This is my Quest
My task
Vanquish Stille
***
We sailed for months
With hardly any strife
Tonight, though, there was tension
There had been great winged beings
Flying overhead
A distant BOOM caught my ear
GET DOWN I roared
Just as soon as my voice
Reached my crew
A cannonball ripped through
The main-mast
I ran to the wheel
And pulled a hard right
My men were in complete pandamonium below
They ran to the guns...but
There was no ship to be seen
Another BOOM
This time blasting through the deck
I counted at least 7 dead
A shadow suddenly engulfed the ship
Shouts and cries tore at my ears
The enemy was above us
Stille had sent it
There was no doubt in my mind
We propped up the guns
And fired at the ship
Our shots hit target
Blasting holes in the bottom of the enemy
I noticed three propellors on the sides
And told my crew to take them out
The shots were fired and two hit home
The ship above us dropped suddenly
But the one remaining propellor
Pushed the ship aside
It crashed into the sea to the port side
A great wave washed over us
But we rejoiced
For the first battle was won
