Taking Each Day As It Comes

Contributed by pixie on Saturday, 25th September 2004 @ 11:47:33 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

I am taking each day as it comes,
Learning to walk before I try to run,
I always expect too much from myself,
Try to play all the cards I have been dealt.

Every day that I manage to smile,
Makes that day of living so worthwhile,
Slowly but surely I will walk toward,
That shining light behind the door.

I was doing too much when I wasn’t ready,
No wonder I felt wobbly & quite unsteady,
Mind wasn’t able to function as it once did,
Hopefully this time I’ll do it right & get rid.

Once & for all turn my back & walk away,
From the shadows that darkened too many a day,
I know that some days I won’t feel very strong,
& that I won’t feel like I really belong.

But I will gather my strength & then rise,
Take a deep breath & look into the sky,
Thank my lucky star that I’m here to tell the tale,
Of my life that has been far from a plain sail.

Hi Pixie,
You've got the right idea here. Sometimes we all have to slow down and regroup.
Great writing, keep it up.

This rush of optimism, ambition and almost re-birth is so very refreshing. I'm so glad you're on your way to feeling better, feeling happy. Keep it up, we all love you.

Lots of love and peace be with you,

Chelsea
