Letting Go

Contributed by LJ on Thursday, 18th July 2002 @ 06:43:59 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Weary they grow
Are they ready to go
Days slip away
Becoming so gray

Each day shorter
Each breathe harder
Time engraved on their brow
Their time is now

So selfish am I
Not ready for them to die
Taken by surprise
Their spirits arise

They are old
So I am told
Loneliness I fear
I need them here

Their love I crave
Even from the grave
Their smile to see
Would set my heart free

A kiss and a wave
I don’t want to be brave
I want them here
I want them near

Hey, LJ I agree letting go can be hard. But letting go is something you must do cause if u dont it will only tear you apart inside. I've been torn apart enough for the both of us. So let them go and maybe writing this poem has helped let go a bit? This was awesome. I'll be looking for more of your stuff.

It's always difficult to watch loved ones pass
Take heart in letting them know how much you love them while there with you.
I liked you poem a lot

I love this poem LJ...it's full of love and feeling. As Dave says, let them know you love them while they are alive ...it's so important for them and you.
