Need To Reprogram

Contributed by pixie on Friday, 24th September 2004 @ 10:13:02 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

My mind needs to be reprogrammed,
With negative thinking is has been jammed,
Over all the pain staking years,
It has gone rusty from all the fallen tears.

It will take quite some time,
To make sense of the riddles & rhymes,
As they are slowly sucked from within my mind,
Then once again my way I’ll be able to find.

My cloud has shed far too much rain,
Head has felt more than its share of pain,
Thoughts have taken on the colour black & grey,
They are damaging & I often I have to pay.

I am in this for the long haul,
I’m sure on my journey I will fall,
But if I am strong enough up I will get,
Brush myself down & the pain I can forget.

It will feel strange to be rid of the blackness,
Having it replaced with happiness,
I am in desperate need to change my thinking,
But I know it wont happen while I am blinking.

You have taken the first step, by finding the inner strength to make your way forward.
And as always you write with so much passion and pure feelings, You paint such vivid pictures of the daily struggles you face.
I hope you reach quality of life within your heart, take care always

Your strength and determination shine through with such hope in this piece of honest realization. I have been there, and I can tell you that you are on your way to better things. Bravo!

Pixie, I too have been there. In fact I am need of a refresher course at the moment. I took CBT about 15 years ago and fortunately have saved my worksheets all that time! It's funny you should write this. I have been writing a story assignment for school about the time I went in the looney bin and instead of medication, they gave me a textbook and worksheets. I hope you succeed. Hugs!

You can do it, girl! We're all pulling for you. I can only describe this poem as honest. I think it's also been long-awaited to see you start to feel better.
I'll be here.

Lots of love and peace be with you,

Chelsea
