“Doest thou know the pains of hunger?
Mayhap that of flesh and bone
But knoweth thee of blood?
I think not!
I eat not for sustenance
For my body requires such no longer
I consume your food and your wares
For the sake of presentation
To earn your trust
To win your confidence
To gain admittance into your domicile
Where upon which I then descend
Unto your family like a plague
‘Tis a dance
A macabre waltz
Executed precisely
Under my dictated direction
To the tune of wailing women
Children’s screams and pleas
To spare your pitiful, pathetic little lives
All performed for my attentive ears
And to no avail
For fate hath delivered you unto my hands
And you, you unwitting dolt
Hath betrayed your bonds of matrimony
And given up all your parental rights
The family that hath entrusted you to provide
Be now offered up to death by your own doing
For you invited me in
You have sealed their fates
You have brought this upon them all
How feel you now, little man?”
The question was rhetorical
Even had he been able to speak
Past the makeshift gag and dislocated jaw
I expected no answer, and none followed
I had secured him to a chair
With strips of fabric torn from the hem
Of his wife’s linen dress
As he had lain unconscious on the floor
The fear in his eyes was exquisite
Holding his gaze, near to intoxicating
Blood that ran from the corner of his mouth
Teased and tempted at the edges of my sanity
I backhanded him, nearly toppling he and the chair
I grabbed a handful of his hair and yanked his head back
His eyes grew wider as I displayed my teeth then moved in
And licked the trail of blood from his protruding chin
I had seen this man before, many times
He was one that frequented the bed of another woman
That woman, the first to wear my mark
My sacrificial rite of ascension, my reason for being
In a past life, I had followed this man, many times
As he trekked back to his farm house at near dusk
He would bed with his wife until slumber took her
Then traverse the hall to his eldest daughters room
Her shame was clearly evidenced upon her face
The younger daughter, just over two decades old
Appeared to have been spared his lecherous advances
I despised them all, save her
The women huddled together in a near corner of the room
His wife and daughters, similarly attired in simple dresses
The defiant look of the youngest, indicative
That he had not yet begun to visit her bedchambers
As the others trembled in tantalizing fear
She shook with righteous indignation
And the anger of innocence
She intrigued me, but her time would soon come
I returned to her father and tore open his tunic
Exposing his grotesquely flabby chest
Above his sternum, I drew my mark ~ My Blood Flower
He thrilled me by screaming at every stroke
I spun him ‘round so they could gaze upon him in his glory
I languished in their fear as I whispered that soon
They would each bear my tattoo as well
Then orally I cleansed his blood from my finger
I swiftly, then lifted his wife to her feet, she delighted me
As she shrieked and screamed in surprised despair
I ripped the bodice from her dress, revealing her torso
Briefly, before her husband, I fondled sagging flesh
I spun her towards him, forced her to kneel then pressed her face
Down into his lap, as I laid my mark between her shoulder blades
Locking eyes with him I pulled back hard on her hair
Jerking her head up, and buried my teeth into her exposed neck
He gazed on in silent torment, struggling against his bonds
I finished with her and tossed the lifeless corpse across the room
I had been satiated, my hunger finally abated
But I was far from finished …
There were still
Three more
Beating hearts
Within the room ~

Excellent!! You have stoked the fires of curiosity well. I, like the vampire, lust for more. I wait with bated breath....I think you would do well to approach a publisher. This is right up there with Stephen King and Koontz. Write on ( and soon :o] pleaze, pleaze )

Naz,
I am spell bound by the potency of this work. When I read It captivates me; and I let forth a big sigh when I've finished. Your talent, imagination, and expression are remarkable. I guess it is really an innate gift!

Indescribably haunting! My dearest Naz, this is a beautiful, disturbing song of my life... This piece... is absolutely mind blowing. I am still spellbound by these words that are adorned with delicious hate, vengeance... I truly felt this. My heart strings have been yanked in every which direction possible, until finally, they are completely plucked away... Such loathing towards this father; a loathing that I feel so strongly towards mine... Fonce chasseur has shown him no mercy, torturing his family and his daughters that he violated, out of pure lust... Incredible write, sweetest poet! May the Flower take pleasure in hearing the father's pitiful screams, and later on, his last dying breath... Utterly perfect, and petrifying, yet, I enjoyed it... This was a wonderful welcoming! I enjoyed this very much! You talent is boundless, Scott. I thank you for this chilling story that is still holding me under its trance... I loved it! My fourth endeavor is coming along beautifully! All my love, and thank you for this! Eternally yours,
Votre Fleur de Sang |

This piece is one of the best vampire poems I've read so far. |
