Just Stay Away

Contributed by lanna047 on Thursday, 23rd September 2004 @ 10:42:21 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

this wave that comes over me
when I let down my guard
memories flood me over
and take me back to the start

that day you let me go
forever burned in my mind
when I think about you
I re-live it every time

the pain is not as raw
but the sting still stays
and it becomes and uphill battle
just to get through my days

ruthless, it stays with me
only getting worse at night
there's no way to escape
when I turn out the light

to know that you're around
that you're not too far away
that there's a chance I might see you
only heightens the dismay

what will make it better
so I can feel sane?
the answer is simple
you can just stay away

What a beautifully composed poem by such an awesome poet. I love the emotion contained here and when a poet injects their emotion into their creation the end result is perfection. Thank You for sharing yourself and your wonderful poetry with all of us. Please have a look at some of mine and leave a message. Your Friend MickeyPigKnuckles :o)

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
