I WILL BE JOYFUL

Contributed by joe-joe on Thursday, 23rd September 2004 @ 03:49:26 PM in AEST
Topic: spiritual

I will be joyful, for the joy of God fills my soul with joy unspeakable joy,

Giving me a peace that surpasses all earthly understanding,

Which empowers me with power to overcome him that comes to steal, kill and destroy…

I will be joyful in the morning; I will be joyful at noon;

I will be joyful as the evening Tide comes rolling in,

Freed from the chains of my sorrow and pain, washed clean of all my iniquities and sin…

I will be joyful with joy forevermore, rejoicing in the joy of the Lord, with all my power and might,

Dancing in His presence with gratitude and with sure delight…

He came with open arms to receive us unto Himself, clothing us in His goodness, mercy and grace,

Assuring us of complete and total victory over all our enemies,

Wiping them out, without leaving a trace….

I will be Joyful in all my ways, joyful as I humble myself to pray,

Joyful in the face of danger, joyful in the heat of anger!

I will be joyful with expressions of joy, joyful though sadness comes my way,

Joyful as the contrary winds blow causing my branches to sway…

Joyful though the world is being destroyed before my very eyes, joyful as my son asks me for a reason why…

I will be joyful with joy forevermore, rejoicing in the joy of the Lord, with all my power and might,

Dancing in His presence with gratitude and with sure delight…

I like this one. I am glad you portrayed joy as it really is- not happiness, but peace and faith in times of adversity and of plenty. God bless you with His joy and the kind you spoke of in here.

Good words joe-joe, may God be praised! His joy is our strength. Thank you for reminding me of that, and also reminding me that through Christ, the choice to have true joy or not is mine! Not that its really a choice, if you know what I mean, haha.. but truly, in each situation, we must die to death and choose the way of life. The joy of the LORD is our strength! Not by might, or by power, but by His Spirit! May you dwell always in Him. shalom!
