Nonexistant Life

Contributed by JennyFruFru on Thursday, 23rd September 2004 @ 01:21:26 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

When I was born I did not fall upon the Earth
instead the Earth fell upon me...

It was thrown upon my shoulders for me to bear
I carried it around as I slept
It sat gently upon me as I began to crawl
and balanced ever so carefully as I took my first step.

When I cried my tears made floods
Filling the streams and oceans
Yet my smiles brought forth droughts
that cracked the soil and dried up all the rivers

Every step forward caused an earthquake
and every step back caused a typhoon
and even a tiny bit of anger here and there would bring forth a volcano full of doom

There was no happy medium
and my shoulders ached with pain
My worse fears had dwelled upon me
that my actions caused dismay.

Forever the Earth will dwell upon me
my thoughts, my actions, and my pain will not only bear burden on my own soul
but will forever haunt the spirits that linger on Earth.

I am unable to release the load that was set upon me
For doing so would shatter the world and the hopes and dreams of many
Instead I watch it from above trying not to make the slightest movement

But with these actions I have forgotten myself and have focused completely
on the things that have been placed upon me
I no longer know who I am

As a way of preventing myself from disrupting life...
...I pretend that I dont exist.

Life is hard, there is no doubt. Yet it is up to us to choose our paths on which we walk. Sometimes we just have to lay burdens down and hand our problems over to God. Many times when I have done that, I have found that they had been taken care of without me. We are sometimes our own worst enemies.

Hugs,
Rita
