ME

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Thursday, 23rd September 2004 @ 12:31:35 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I once knew a woman so cold and dark,
white light could not penetrate.
Days and days lost in sadness,
Days never to be replaced.

She only dressed in black,
for no colors she felt she deserved.
She laughed at all the appropriate times,
and cried when time alone was hers.

She blamed others for her pain,
hated those with a Mother.
Begged desperately, silently for help,
but continued to be engulfed and smothered.

Looked to some for comfort,
Found it wasn't layin' on her back.
Empty lovers with false promises
sucked her deeper down, in fact.

Oh the hate for herself grew ever deeper.
What use was she to anyone?
So much pain and suffering,
who knew you would come?

You taught her how to love.
You taught her to forgive.
You came and loved her like no other,
and gave her a reason to live.

Eerie. You just penned my life now. I hope I am as lucky as you are in the near future. I would love to be loved again. This is a great write.

Rita

Wow, what a deep dark place this took with an uplifting twist at the ol' end. Smile!
