Trapped Within

Contributed by lanna047 on Wednesday, 22nd September 2004 @ 09:45:11 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

on the outside
what you may see
this act I put on
is not the real me

trapped within
hidden inside me
a spirit wants out
trying to break free

but fears don't permit
so well I've been trained
I walk on eggshells
my courage has been stained

the past that haunts
and invades the present
to stifle the future
making it less than pleasant

I am my own prisoner
as well as my own warden
in this cell I've been held
shut away and hidden

somewhere lies the key
for these locks, it'll fit
but if it were to be found
would I even recognize it?

Wow thats a pretty deep write. I hope you will find strength in being free and clear about who you are and loving yourself being so.
