Great Stupidity

Contributed by Adonia_Donata on Wednesday, 22nd September 2004 @ 10:42:06 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Ashamed of grace, I hide my face.

Your life I do not share.

I sit in wonder, pain and awe,

And say it is not fair.

Where is my fire, my love for You,

As when it had begun?

As if You are to blame for these,

The things that I have done.

Humbled, hobbled, torn and bleeding,

I see You in their eyes.

Knowing their hearts, know their minds,

I should not show surprise.

They love You, Lord, with fire and passion,

And care not what others think.

Yet I, their senior, once mentor and leader,

From Your Light I tend to shrink.

My pride, my anger, my "righteousness",

What folly, what dastardly sin!

I dig a hole beneath the sand,

And quickly shove my small head in.

How can I sit here, proud and strong,

Knowing all I know?

In truth, I'm not the only one

To know it for a show.

What I have read of your poems, I like them, ok I am not religeuos, but your poems tend to flow with such easy rythm, and I can tell that they are written with all the passion within your heart.
Beautiful poem keep them coming.
