I loved you sweetly after nightfall
Between two dreams I can recall
Eyes betraying lips’ silent stance
And loins arched in invitation to dance,
Long kindling fever within me
From pain to love, then delivery,
You kissed like prayer anointing
Desire, sacred in its being ;
You loved me in the morning, early
As the dawn stole in and surely
Lightened tired bodies, yet undefeated,
Hearts fulfilled and a night completed.
