Introduction To: The Rennasaince Machine 2

Contributed by deadreckoning1983 on Wednesday, 22nd September 2004 @ 12:52:57 AM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

Pak was there when I needed her most.
She too had a Nemith, a purple toad, named Grumble.
Gideon formed into a beautiful dragon with irredescent blue scales.
Unlike Pak and I, our Nemiths did not get along,
they had a peaceful tolerance and that was all.
It was during one of their spats, in the shop,
that they uncovered an old metallurgic text.
The text described the design for a machine that could bring about the new age.
I really didn't understand it, but in faded ink, a name could be seen,
The Rennasaince Machine, I thought this was only a myth,
but here was an actual text of a forgotten relic.
So why did my father have it?
I never asked him, and eventually forgot all about it until......
"Wake up, you miserable disgrace!", came roaring from outside.
"We want the papers and we wants 'em now",
the voice was greasy and intimidating.
I peaked out my window only to see roughly fifteen men,
one of which was over nine feet tall.
This huge man carried a Longsword,
an easy feet with those arms.
Suddenly my mother burst into my room.
"What is going on?", I asked, and was quickly hushed.
"Don't let them see you Necro, you have to go!"
Go?, Where was I going in the dead of night?
"I have packed you a rucksack, hurry hurry!!!"
This wasn't making sense at all.
"Where are we going?", I asked my mother.
"You, are going to meet the prophet at the Red Creek".
"What, that old man is crazy!!!"
BOOOOOM!!!, "Blooming fairies, what was that!?!?!?"
I knew what it was, the Giant had fired his Long sword,
Blasting thru the shop and killing my father.
I tried to scream, I wanted to kill that putrid vile man.
My mother on the other hand,
shoved me out the back and kissed me on the cheek.
No goodbye, just a kiss.
I have yet to see her face to this day, some thirty years later.
Making my way to creek was easy,
I stayed tucked into the woods and sheltered in shadows.
When I arrived at the creek there was no prophet.
What a surprise, ask a crazy man to meet you in the early dawn,
and he doesn't show. I made camp, no fire, just a shelter.
Tenatively I fell asleep, still gunshy from the blast.
Just as dawn was peeking over the ridge,
I was knocked awake by.....something.
Later, I found out, the prophet had whacked me on the head with his cane!
He seemed less crazy this morning, and even offered me some food.
He had conjured up a fire and cooked some apramint muffins.
I ate until I was full, and stuffed the rest into my sack for later.
"What is going on?", I asked.
"We are Going to Marthinia, to see Queen Karen".
"No, I meant in the forest, last night".
"I don't know.", he said with gravel in his throat.
Hmmm, I couldn't tell if was lying or being honest,
so I let it drop for the moment.
"Why are we going to Marthinia?"
"To see the Queen.", with undertones of aggitation.
"She has requested your presence Necro,
I believe it has something to do with that machine."
"The Rennasaince Machine?"
"How should I know?!?", he said,"I am just a guide".
This where my life ended,
and my journey began. This was my destiny.
