H is (not) Dead in all my Dreams

Contributed by Cancer on Tuesday, 21st September 2004 @ 07:58:23 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

(in dreams
in dreams...)

where once was joyous laughter
(Her laughter)
now remains only screams
my only retreat
from the loss and the sorrow
is now lost unto me

for now, in dreams, no solace found
no peace beneath that ceaseless sound
Her moans of anguish
Her cries of pain
wailing from Her unmarked grave

(H is Dead in all my Dreams
though I can still hear Her screams)

no better days to be relived
in slumber's warm embrace
just fitful nights spent dreaming of
Her soil-smothered face

"buried alive" the papers read
"though by now She's surely dead"
this is what Her killer wrote
in his publicized suicide note

and now in dreams
I search for Her
determined to uncover Her
to cease Her screams
and end my dreams
of Her suffocated suffering

but each mourning just greets hands as empty
as my heart is doomed to be
and though they tell me
She's surely gone
H isn't dead to me

because I still hear Her scream

Leaves me wanting to know more. Very suspenseful. Says so much and so little all at once. Beautiful.

wow this was beautiful. I loved the
smothering darkness created by this poem.
This would make a great horror movie.
