I've never had the pleasure of meeting you face to face
I've never heard your voice, or felt the warmth of your embrace
I was blind to your existance until it was far too late
I wish I could've met you, life's cruel twisting fate
But I think that you'd approve, I'm trying to do my best
Your baby says he loves me so much more than all the rest
I hope that you will guide me, show me how to treat him right
How to calm him when he's angry, and keep him warm at night
I've seen you in a picture etched forever in my mind
I wish time had a button, and I could push rewind
I'd really like to thank you for giving my spirit a lift
Although you never knew it, you gave me the greatest gift
You'll be forever in my heart when all is said and done
Without you I'd have never known my true love who is your son.
