What Was Meant To Be

Contributed by mdmorash on Monday, 20th September 2004 @ 11:14:52 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I closed my eyes,
Upon my world,
And fell away to dreams.

The darkness of my days,
Was soon replaced,
By the light,
That burns within my hope.

Soon I touched,
The silky white,
And drew it far away.
And what I saw,
What I beheld,
Was a window to my soul?

And when it opened,
I heard my song,
And felt my breath exhale.
For came the moment,
Within my life,
When I finally understood.

That all I'd sought,
Was not for me.
And for to long,
I’d played the fool.

So I chose to stop,
And take my place,
There, within the scene.
And stand upon,
The sandy beach,
Of what was meant to be.

Hello again,

This poem seems to be a bit more reflective into the inner you. I read it a couple of times and I truly like it. Of course, you know how much I like your work. I visited your site again a while back looking for the 3rd poem to your epic. I can't wait... I have forwarded your website so others can read work. You are a Master Story Teller... As I've said before, I wish I had your vision and ability to write the way you do. Good job!

Take Care,
J~
