I was in love once

I was in love once
Buring with passion
Hot with silence
My heart un frozen
Torn by heartache
And unloved lies
Feelings were a mistake
Crying as I watched the moonrise
No one has hurt me like you
As I cry my rivers, and sing my sad songs
Watching our love turn into mildew
Wondering where my heart belongs

The answer to your question (in your author's note) lies inside of you.
It isn't easy when you make the decision to stay or to leave. But love also changes and evolves and goes to a place beyond passion & newness. A friendship which can be everlasting and a deeper sort of love evolves over time. People also make mistakes and lie. I guess the question is can you forgive? Will it happen again? Or is it time to move on?
I liked your poem alot.
