Rain falls on my bowed head
As I remember the things you said.
I will never forget our time together
But I knew I couldn't keep you.
I feel now as light as a feather
Which would fly away if the wind blew.
All the things in the world
Can't fill this hole
In my heart and soul
That I feel without you by my side
To be my cherished love and guide.
The only one in whom I could confide.
So here I sit, wishing to have you back.
Knowing it will always be you I lack.
So I want you to know
That I will always love you.
And even though you can't hear me
Always, I will here for you be.
And in this empty and lifeless air,
I proclaim I will always care.
I hereby give you my heart,
And walk away, my new life to start.

Please report poetry and or comments that are in breach of our site rules HERE (Please include poem title or url). Parents also please ensure that you supervise your children well when they are on the internet; regardless of what a site says about being, or being considered, child-safe.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
