Panic Attack

Contributed by pixie on Monday, 20th September 2004 @ 12:21:54 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Here comes another panic attack,
Oh my god my fears have come back,
I sit & hold my head once again,
Can’t go on feeling this sort of pain.

My stomach begins to tie in knots,
My rational thinking slowly rots,
Thoughts are all over the place,
Through my mind they twist & race.

I feared the worst when I got no reply,
My heart was pounding I wanted to cry,
Fear made my ivory bones chill,
Panic had set in & was making me feel ill.

I thought that you wanted to get away,
In a far, far land is where you would stay,
Sickness travelling up to my throat,
I felt I was sinking in my little boat.

I was waving my hands about in the air,
You just walked by, you didn’t even care,
I tried to shout but my voice was so weak,
Then came the tears that gently fell on my cheek.

All I wanted was to feel your warm caress,
Instead all I felt was a complete mess,
Shaking like a leaf on a near bare tree,
I know of panic & it lives inside me.

Wow, I've never had a panic attack but that sounds really tough. It was an amazing write. Good luck.

It never ceases to amaze me how alike we are, dear Pixie. You've certainly got a handle on how panic attacks make you feel. Hopefully you don't have to deal with them anymore. I do sometimes. It's not even as pleasant as you describe.

Hope you're ok.

Lots of love and peace be with you,

Chelsea
