No End In Sight

Topic: Lifepoems

No End In Sight
~~~
The world is just one big stage
Characters acting out lines
Going through the motions
A sign of the times
Beliefs washed away
What ever feels good goes
We are all lost in the wind
As the scenery shows
Backdrops tell the story
How far off track we’ve become
As we sit here doing nothing
As if we were numb
New acts start and sets change
As we sit calmly in our chair
Waiting for the end
Yet it’s nothing that we fear
I try with all my heart
I try with all my might
To light a fire under people
Yet there is no end in sight
Are we just too far gone?
Hasn’t the play run its course?
How can we stand here doing nothing?
With no sense of remorse?
Dear God in the heavens
Send us something to wake us up
We sit here too relax
Drinking coffee from a cup
