THE TROOPS DIE FROM A NEOCON FEVER

Contributed by steeleyes on Monday, 20th September 2004 @ 07:37:03 AM in AEST
Topic: political

We’ve come through the worst
A dose of hard reality has been applied
The Bush fantasy is burst, deflated on the ground
Not a shred of truth was to be found

Over one thousand dead
One thousand good men and true
Lost to their families forever
And for what? For a Neocon fever

A diseased notion of world domination
Yes, they used the bodies
Of your idealistic boys and girls
To fill their ugly dreams, those hog swills

Narrow would-be fascists
In leather-bound decay
So many now deflated egos
As reality found its way

These sad hawks and republican slime
Threw your children away
in a disgusting crime

Those hard-faced men
With calculating skill
Used America’s grief
and fear simply to deal

the ugly hand of death
To send OTHERS where
Their fantasies demanded
And where THEY didn’t dare

So now the bubble is burst
Are they ashamed or penitent?
Not a bit
They will NEVER relent

Too many egos
demanding too much attention
Too many theories
of anal retention

Bush and his backup boys
who's ugly minds
are determined to be RIGHT
Though history finds

they were so very WRONG
And killed SO many
Without a plan
And THOUGHT, not any

to the mess their fantasies
would ultimately make
To the deaths of thousands
In their wake
To a world endangered
By their acts
And a total NEGLECT
of the facts

Though we’ve come through the worst
Hard reality has struck
The Bush fantasy is ended dying on the ground
Not a shred of truth to be found

Over one thousand dead
One thousand good men and true
Lost to their families forever
For the sake of hateful Neocon fever

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
