Journey's end

Make your wish.
Beseech the star, as it runs its firey tongue across the sky,
For fortune’s change deserved
And romance filled with rose petal soft kisses.
Tear away this union.
Sever these bonds and rend all love
Till it is dust and we are strangers
Staring at each other with
Curious tear tracks upon
Our cheeks and heart.
Empty that full glass before you,
And when your thirst still consumes
Crush the glass and leave
The wine red shards
To sparkle with pain in my heel.
Break free of the satin restraints
Which choke you softly,
But choke you still.
Make off in the night, when jailors close their eyes,
And hands loosen their grip.
Flee, break free. Evade my love,
Escape my memory. Let this journey’s end
Begin.
