You think you’re perfect
And you’re perfectly right
But could we not be perfect tonight
Odd how things end just where they began
How the wind makes circles in the sand
I love you now
More than the day I met you
Should I forget this in a thousand years
I could never forget this view
The sun sweeping your hills and valleys
My love, it is ocean deep
It is the wind on the fields
It is the afternoon’s creep
It is the rise and set of the sun
Bright as the stars on the blackest night
My heart may be as tempered as steel
Once aflame now doused in water
Smoke must rise, even from ashes
But with time all things must heal
Yet you always seem a day away
