I keep trying to understand
where exactly things went wrong
I can't help but look back
and it keeps me up all night long
we seemed to be so happy
how quickly it turned sour
everything reminds me of you
haunting me to the latest hour
all that I've been through
I just want to forget
even the best memories
end up filling me with regret
I look back and feel fooled
all that time I couldn't see
what should have been warning signs
were invisible to me
I shouldn't have been so innocent
so trusting and naive
but for such a short time
I thought I had reason to believe
you seemed to be so different
blessed with the kindest soul
too bad I was proven wrong
my faith in you, now an empty hole
