I've tried wishing upon a star,
But that has failed to take me far.
I blew out candles and made a wish,
But never got your longing kiss.
I blew a dandilion all apart
But never won your precious heart
I threw a penny down a well,
But if you loved me, I could not tell.
I do all of these things to make my wishes come true,
But none of my wishes ever do.
So once in a while, I sit and pray,
Just to get through another day.
