The Clouds & The Sun

Contributed by pixie on Sunday, 19th September 2004 @ 12:10:23 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

The white, fluffy clouds & the yellow sun,
Play chase in the sky & have all kinds of fun,
The clouds float all around, sun gives chase,
He ends up puffing & panting can’t keep up the pace.

The young clouds giggle as the sun has to have a rest,
He tells them that he has done his very best,
But he is just too old & his running days are over,
He laughs & says “just you wait until you’re older”

They ask the sun just how old he is, so he laughs,
I was a good old age when your mum gave you baths,
For an eternity I have paced up & down these skies,
I have witnessed & heard so many laughs & cries.

I wish I could turn back time & be young again,
But for me old age has long taken hold of my reins,
I love to watch you youngsters laughing each day,
I just wish I could keep up when you ask me to play.

Where is your wife? asks one of the cheeky clouds,
Sun sighs deeply then replies she is no longer around,
I met my wife a lifetime ago but she was taken from me,
Since that fateful day I have never felt truly free.

At night when I hide behind your cover I don’t sleep,
I try as I might ,but all my heart wants to do is to weep,
Oh clouds I miss her every single second of the hour,
She was so beautiful to me, she was my precious flower.

Great work... I do enjoy the sun, but I also like to watch the moon at night... maybe you could bring the two of them together... it would be a LAT relation then, but it's better than eternal loneliness...;-)
Hugs,
Hur
