At The End Of The Gun

Contributed by pixie on Sunday, 19th September 2004 @ 07:21:49 AM in AEST
Topic: hbadday

Being at the end of a gun,
Is something I didn’t find fun,
Made to hand over amounts of cash,
It all happened quickly, was over in a flash.

Get on the floor! The gunman shouted,
There were three or so I counted,
Yelling & waving their weapons,
Making sure we were all threatened.

I felt my stomach fill with fear,
As I lay there I felt him come near,
Holding his gun all the while,
What they did was cruel & so vile,

After it happened we were all in shock,
Only a few minutes had passed on the clock,
Shaking hands & shattered nerves,
We all got what we didn’t deserve.

A friend had the gun shoved in his face,
That’s an image he’ll never erase,
Forever he will have terrible flashbacks,
Of the night that we were all attacked.

Those men that robbed us that night,
Still walk about, still causing fright,
I remember it like it was just yesterday,
That fateful experience forever will stay.

A quiet night in the local having a drink,
Is safe enough or so you’d think?
But not for us round where we live,
There’s always someone with terror to give.

It's sad that one cant go out and have a good time without worrying about getting robbed, but alas, that's the world we live in.

Well written poem

Hi Pixie,
a wonderfully descriptive write, so sorry you had to go through that but hopefully the passing of time will help ease your trauma.
A wonderful write.
Ciao,
Fwog
