The door closes
A gunshot rings
Throughout an empty room
No one was listening
No one heard
A cold body lies on the floor
Hand at side
Gun on the floor
A heart with no hope
Eyes that saw no reflection
Hollow eyes staring at a full moon
A soul forgotten a little too soon
Sweat soaked hands
Against splintered wood
Tear filled eyes
Knowing too well what's coming
Moonlight flooding a shadowed doorway
Weak knees collapse
A heart implodes inside a searing chest
Never to feel again
Frantic mind refusing to believe
A voice cries out
Screams of denial
But no one else is there
Nobody hears,
Nobody hears

Nice write. It has feeling in it. I think you know why you wrote it. To me it reminded of a shotting recently just down past my door.
