One More Chance

Contributed by Cancer on Saturday, 18th September 2004 @ 10:25:32 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

at the door
your head hung low
(weary)
listening to promises
that we both know i can't keep

babbling, crying
everything i pray you want to hear
begging, pleading
bent knees bleeding
too late i appreciate
what i stand to lose

i know that i'm not perfect
and i don't try hard enough
but i promise that i will
i know you're sick of hearing this
but i swear this time i will
this time will be different
just give me one more chance
one more chance to fail

buying time
with the same old li(n)es
anything to keep you here
anything for a few more memories

praying that you'll finally cave
just like you always do
hoping that you won't remember
how many times i've told these lies to you

i know that i'm not perfect
and i don't try hard enough
but now i see what i could lose
and i can't live without you
baby, just give me one more chance
this time i swear i won't let you down
please, just give me one more chance
one more chance to fail you

(one more chance to hurt you
one more chance to scar you
one more chance to drain you
one more chance to fail)

through some brain fart or another, i typed my username in place of a title. the real title is, naturally, "one more chance".

thank you mod_11. if i had a taste for any holidays that required the sending of an affectionate card, you'd be getting one. but i don't, so i'll just say thanks again.
